In 2020, I am making an effort to remember to do the things that bring me joy and relieve stress. One of those things is boxing, particularly "boxing to the beat" at BoxUnion. I discovered this place a few years ago & have loved it ever since my first class. It's like SoulCycle, but for boxing. A 45-minute class where you box to the rhythm with the lights low. It is truly a cathartic release. I moved away from their westside locations last year, but I finally got back to the bag on Sunday. My best decision so far this year. It's not only great for the mind, but the workout is ridiculous. I burned 947 calories in an hour. Dope!
I charge everyone that had a crappy 2019 or that just wants to make 2020 a great year to ask yourself: "what brings me joy?" Think it through. Write it down. Remember it. And do it!
I'll be back again next Sunday. I already cannot wait.
