Autumn is here! The colder weather will begin and the time change will shorten our days. Soon it will be time to cuddle up next to the fire with a good book. So here's a list of some of the ones I'm looking forward to reading:
by Michelle Obama
11.13.18
It's Michelle Obama. My First Lady. Enough said, right? I love, admire and respect her so when I heard she was writing a book, I knew I would HAVE to read it. She's also doing a book tour! Getting tickets was worst than a Beyonce tour, but WE MADE IT. After years of competing with the BeyHive, we have learned how to work our way through Ticketmaster, okay! So myself, my mom, my sister & Sunshine's mom have the pleasure of attending her "intimate conversation" in Inglewood on November 15th. Hope you all got tickets too!

by Kobe Bryant
10.23.18
I'm a Laker fan which made me root for Kobe Bryant. However, I wasn't always a Kobe fan in particular. Then I became aware of his ridiculous work ethic and that made me a fan. His "Mamba mentality" is one I would love to learn about and emulate in my life.

by Heather Morris
8.4.18
I'm not usually a fan of historical fiction, but this definitely caught my eye. It's about an imprisoned Jewish man who they make a tattooist at Auschwitz because he can speak several languages. He risks his life to help others prisoners and ends up falling in love somewhere in there. Gives off Schindler's List vibes so I will give it a try.

by Iain Reid
7.7.18
I love a horror! Movies and books. Iain Reid wrote another fave of mine, I'm Thinking of Ending Things, & that's being made into a Netflix movie!! So I cannot wait to read this one. The end of his books always leave me shocked. CAN. NOT. WAIT.

by Oyinkan Braithwaite
11.20.18
The title pulled me right away. The sister is dating men and killing them. Did they deserve it though? Maybe. Totally kidding! But definitely interested to see how this plot thickens.

by Jasmine Guillory
10.30.18
This is a romance, as the name suggests. It starts off at a Dodgers game with a proposal gone wrong. They have only been dating for 5 months. Does anyone else wish they could witness one of these bad proposals in real life? No? Ok, me either. "We love love!" Anyway, Jasmine Guillory's debut novel, The Wedding Date, was really good so of course I want to read this one. Read The Wedding Date if you haven't already!

by Jodi Picoult
10.2.18
Did you see the film My Sister's Keeper? With Cameron Diaz, Abigail Breslin, Jason Patric & Alec Baldwin? It's pretty deep and you should watch it. Well, Jodi Picoult wrote the book. Controversial topic. And she's back with another! This time it's about your majority party's favorite topic: women's health and their right to govern it. Something intense happens in a clinic (gunman, hostages) and the story is being told backwards. Sounds like a good read! And, who knows, it may become a movie so you'll be ahead of the curve.

by Katya Apekina
8.18.18
I always read stories about crazy parents... because I can relate LOL
~~
by Courtney Summers
9.4.18
My list wouldn't be complete if I didn't have at least one story of someone being murdered and a family member's world crumbling leading them to bring a killer to justice. Somehow people tell this story a lot and manage to make it different. I keep reading them. [And I keep watching the Lifetime movies]

by Glory Edim (& a lot of other people)
10.30.18
This is on my list because I'm black, a girl, and well-read. It's on the importance of recognizing ourselves in literature.

by Camille Acker
10.9.18
Here is also one of those self-expanatory, "I'm Black so I read Black shit" books.
